At Brouwerij De Leite, we brew with respect for the planet. We follow the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are working step by step towards a greener future.
Our goal? By 2030, we want to be not only drinking water neutral, but also climate neutral in our brewing.
Our approach is based on three key pillars:
Water is essential – for our beer and for the planet. That is why we strive to minimise our water consumption per hectolitre of beer. We have already collaborated with HZ University of Applied Sciences to improve our process and waste water management. Our goal? To achieve completely drinking water-neutral brewing by 2030 and thus continue to protect this precious resource.
We brew with the power of the sun. Solar panels on the roof provide the brewery with green energy for both production and daily operations. This reduces our ecological footprint and contributes to a cleaner energy supply. In the short term, we want to store as much solar energy as possible in heat and cold.
Sustainability is something we do together. By working together with various partners, we strengthen our efforts in the areas of water management and energy consumption. In this way, we are taking steps towards making a positive impact on the world.
‘Every drop counts. At De Leite brewery, we don't just brew beer, we brew a better future – with respect for water, green energy and partnerships that make an impact.’
